Privacy Policy

Last updated: [DATE]

This Privacy Policy explains how [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("we", "us", "our"), operator of Casa Salvia, handles personal data in connection with our website and direct bookings.

1. Who we are

  • [LEGAL ENTITY NAME]
  • Budičinova ulica 4, 6000 Koper, Slovenia
  • Registered address: [REGISTERED ADDRESS]
  • Tax number: [VAT / TAX NUMBER]
  • Contact for privacy matters: [CONTACT EMAIL]

2. The short version

Our website itself collects very little personal data. We do not run guest accounts, and we do not store your booking or payment details on our own systems. Bookings and check-in are handled by our booking and check-in partners (Bentral and Zymzo), who process your data under their own privacy policies. Details below.

3. Data processed through our website

  • Language preference. When you choose a language, your browser stores that choice locally so the site remembers it. This is a functional setting and is not used to identify you.
  • Booking widget (Bentral). Bookings are made through a widget provided by Bentral, embedded on our site. When you book, the information you enter (such as your name, contact details, and stay dates) is processed by Bentral's booking system. Bentral acts as the processor of this booking data. See Bentral's own privacy policy for details of their processing.
  • Check-in and payment (Zymzo). Check-in, payment of the service fee, tourist tax, and the damage deposit are handled through the Zymzo application, operated by Zymzo d.o.o. (Ilirska ulica 21, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia). Any identification and payment data you provide at check-in is processed by Zymzo under their own privacy policy.

4. Analytics and advertising [NOT YET ACTIVE]

[NOT YET ACTIVE — enable this section only once these tools are installed.]

When enabled, we will use:

  • Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use our website, using aggregated and pseudonymised data.
  • Google Ads to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to understand which visits lead to bookings.

These tools set cookies and process data only where you have given consent through our cookie banner. See our Cookie Policy for details. Where required, we use Google Consent Mode so that these tools respect your choices.

5. Contact or cancellation form [NOT YET ACTIVE]

[NOT YET ACTIVE — enable this section only once a form exists.]

If you contact us through a form on our site, we will process the details you provide (such as your name, email, and message) solely to respond to your enquiry or process your request.

6. Why we process data and on what legal basis

  • To provide the accommodation and fulfil your booking (performance of a contract).
  • To comply with legal obligations, including guest registration with the authorities and tax obligations (legal obligation).
  • Where analytics or advertising cookies are used, on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

7. Who we share data with

  • Bentral — booking system provider.
  • Zymzo d.o.o. — check-in, payments, deposit, tourist tax.
  • Public authorities — where we are legally required to register guests or report taxes.
  • Google [NOT YET ACTIVE] — analytics and advertising, once enabled and subject to consent.

We do not sell your personal data.

8. How long we keep data

We retain booking-related records only as long as necessary to fulfil the booking and to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Data processed by Bentral and Zymzo is retained according to their own policies.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Slovenian Information Commissioner (Informacijski pooblaščenec).

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL]. Note that much of your booking data is held by Bentral and Zymzo, and we will direct you to them where they are the relevant controller or processor.

10. International transfers

Where our partners (such as Google, once enabled) process data outside the European Economic Area, they do so under safeguards required by EU law, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The "last updated" date shows when it last changed. Where changes are significant, we will make this clear on our website.
